Interventionist

What is an interventionist?

An interventionist assists schools with identifying challenges, and providing solutions to maximize learning for all students. 

What do we do? 

Whether behavior, reading, or instruction, each of us determines structures and systems to support our school in meeting our school target goals and achieve our mission here at Greenbrier. We look at data and trends in our specific areas of support to use high yield strategies for success.

Mr. Jesse Pierce- Reading Interventionist 

I am very excited to be working in DVUSD.  I have taught many grades in K-3, Gifted in Renaissance, and now K-3 reading specialist. I was born in Chisholm, MN. a small iron ore mining town in Northern MN.. I also attended a small country school (K-12), and graduated with 45 students in my class. As a child I grew up on a small farm and we had many animals. I spend most of my days helping out around my parents farm and playing outside. I graduated from Bemidji State University in MN. with a BS in Elementary Education, Reading Endorsement, Kindergarten/Early Childhood Endorsement, SEI endorsement and my Full Gifted Endorsement. 

Mrs. Denise Adams- Behavior Interventionist

I’m Mrs. Adams,

I am proud to serve Greenbrier as the campus Behavior Coach, working with PBIS Tiers 1-3, helping Sidewinders to be their best through behavior academies, game groups, and interventions. I also work closely with the Student Council, managing the token economy to provide opportunities to spend Sidewinders earned by students following the Greenbrier Way.

I believe that learning is fun and am committed to fostering an environment where every student can be their best.

My educational background includes a Bachelor's in Education, a Master's in Early Childhood Education, and an Administrative Certificate. I have an abundance of experience, with 20 years of experience in the classroom teaching grades Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. I am pleased to have been part of Greenbrier since 2010—teaching Kindergarten for 12 years, my daughter attending school, and today continuing to serve the entire campus as Behavior Coach.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time in nature, tending to my garden, traveling to visit our national parks and forests, and exploring the incredible vistas across the globe. I also spend time volunteering in the community, enjoying my family, and caring for our pets.
